As a supporter, I want to make an extra one-time payment on a specific roadmap item beyond my regular subscription balance so that I can directly accelerate the development of features I care about most.
Description
Enables supporters to boost the priority of roadmap items by making additional one-time payments via Stripe, beyond what their monthly Innovation Token balance covers. This creates a direct financial incentive for developers to prioritize high-demand features and gives supporters a powerful way to influence the roadmap.
The push payment is a separate Stripe Checkout flow (not deducted from the subscription balance). The payment amount is displayed on the roadmap item, increasing its visibility and perceived priority.
Scope
- “Boost this feature” button on roadmap items
- Stripe Checkout integration for one-time payments
- Display total push amount per roadmap item
- Push payment history for supporters (in their dashboard)
- Push payment revenue visible to product owners (in Config Center)
- Webhook handling for successful push payments
- Payout of push payments through existing Stripe Connect flow
What Are Your Thoughts?
Would you use one-time payments to boost features you care about? What amount range feels right? Share your thoughts in the comments below or on our social media channels!
AC1: Push Payment Flow
- GIVEN a supporter views a roadmap item WHEN they click “Boost this feature” and enter a custom amount THEN they are redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete a one-time payment
AC2: Push Amount Display
- GIVEN a roadmap item has received push payments WHEN any user views that roadmap item THEN the total push amount is displayed alongside the regular token votes
AC3: Payment Processing
- GIVEN a supporter completes the Stripe Checkout for a push payment WHEN the payment succeeds THEN the push amount is recorded against the roadmap item and the supporter’s push history is updated
AC4: Product Owner Revenue
- GIVEN a product owner views their Config Center WHEN push payments have been made on their roadmap items THEN they see push payment revenue separately from subscription revenue
AC5: Payout Integration
- GIVEN push payments have been collected WHEN the payout schedule triggers THEN push payment amounts are included in the Stripe Connect payout to the product owner
