What Swoin does

Swoin turns the people who already use your software into paying monthly backers — and gives them a say in what you build next.

You publish a product page for your software. Your users subscribe for a monthly amount. Every subscription pays out Innovation Tokens (InTo) to the subscriber each month, and they spend those tokens on the roadmap items they want most. You see, in numbers, which feature your paying users actually care about before you write a line of code for it.

It works for software you already ship. There is no marketplace, no app review, no exclusivity clause — Swoin sits next to your product, wherever it lives.

Who it is for

• Indie developers with a small, loyal user base and no predictable income from it.
• Open source maintainers who want to fund the work without a paywall, a dual licence, or an enterprise sales motion.
• SaaS vendors looking for a second, community-driven signal on top of their own analytics.
• Makers of paid tools who would rather ask their users what to build than guess.

How the model works, end to end

1. Create a product page. Describe your software and publish the roadmap you have in mind. Your page is public and indexable — you can link it from your README, your docs or your app.
2. Users subscribe. They pick a monthly amount. Billing runs in euros.
3. Subscribers receive Innovation Tokens. Each month, a subscription credits InTo to the subscriber’s balance.
4. Subscribers vote with their tokens. They spend InTo on the roadmap items they want built. A roadmap item’s token total is a direct, weighted signal from the people who pay you.
5. You build, and you move items forward. As you pick an item up and ship it, its status changes and your subscribers see the progress they funded.
6. You get paid out. Your balance is transferred to your bank account. Payouts go to European bank accounts via SEPA.

Nothing here asks your users to switch tools or leave your product. The subscription and the vote are the whole interaction.

Why being based in the EU matters

Swoin is built in the European Union and operated from the EU.

• Your account and product data stay in the EU. Our application servers and object storage run in EU regions. Payments run through Stripe and sign-in through GitHub, Google or Microsoft — those providers are not EU-only, so not every sub-processor in the chain sits in the EU.
• The GDPR applies to us directly
• Billing and payouts are European. Prices are in euros, and payouts land on European bank accounts via SEPA — no currency conversion on the way in or out.

What Swoin is not

Where our limits are:

• It is not a donation button. Subscriptions are recurring, and your users buy influence over your roadmap.
• It is not a store. You do not sell licences or downloads through Swoin.
• It is not a replacement for your own analytics. Token votes tell you what your paying users want.
